It is important to note that while some vendors will accept requestes for a custom order, some vendors may not. In order to inquire about whether or not a vendor will accept custom orders, please contact the vendor directly using the information provided in on their shop page.
Please note that payments for custom orders initiated through the Shop Haida Gwaii website must be completed through the Shop Haida Gwaii website. Failure to comply with this could result in custom orders no longer being offered through the site.

Shipping costs for items purchased through Shop Haida Gwaii are calculated during the checkout process using Canada Post third party labels.
You will notice a line item denoting final shipping price during the checkout process which shows you the price paid for items shipped.
Please note, that because the Shop Haida Gwaii site allows you to purchase from more than one vendor at a time, you will be subjected to shipping fees from all vendors from which you are purchasing.

Shipping times are varied by each vendor as well as depending on the shipping methods you select at checkout. Each vendors sets processing times for items available through their shop which are dependant on each vendors ability to make and send items out to you. While some vendors may have items ready to ship, others may have a processing time to make your item prior to sending out your item. Please make sure to read the items descriptions in order to get a better understanding of shipping/ processing times.
It is important to note that shipping post processing times will also depend on where you live in Canada. As Shop Haida Gwaii and its vendors live and work on the rugged archipelago of Haida Gwaii, we are subject to inclement weather conditions such as hurricanes and strong winds that may delay ferries arriving to and leaving the island.
Please note that shipping may also be affected by local and economic circumstances that are outside of the control of Shop Haida Gwaii or it's vendors - such as postal strikes, blockades, or pandemic restrictions.
However, Shop Haida Gwaii and it's vendors will actively work to make sure that items mailed to you are sent with expediency and care, and we ask our vendors to update you should there be unforeseen delays to your order's arrival to the best of thier ability.

Shop Haida Gwaii is run by local non-profit Misty Isles Economic Development Society. We exist to create an opportunity for artists and local businesses to sell thier items online using a local platform. We help to create a stronger economy by helping local vendors extend their selling seasons by selling online.
Artists, makers and local product based businesses on Haida Gwaii can sign up to become a Shop Haida Gwaii vendor, and our team helps vendors get set up on the site. Each vendor has access to their own dashboard where they can run their shop. Vendors upload their listings and connect directly to customers through Shop Haida Gwaii. We connect to Canada Post shipping directly from the site, so vendors can print off shipping labels from the comfort of their homes, while getting a discount on shipping!
If you are an interested vendor but already have an existing Six Shopify, Woocommerce or Squarespace site, did you know that we can live-sync directly to your site so you don't have to worry about managing inventory in multiple locations!? Give us a shout.
When a customer shops on the site total funds from the sale less fees are paid out to the vendors. We are a non profit society and transparency about fees is important to us. Our fees include a payment processing fee through Shopify and a Stripe payments fee to transfer funds to vendors through the site. Total fees are under 4% of the total price of the order.
New to E-Commerce? No worries, we offer help to those who need computer literacy assistance by partnering with other local services and working one on one with vendors. If you need need assistance with photographing your items, our Equipment Rental Program and training from Shop Haida Gwaii staff can help you get beautiful photos of your work to list on the site.
