This Hemlock root was a rescue job. It was bent, broken and almost torn apart. I don’t know what I saw in it, except that it was interesting. The limbs were put back to their natural position and mended and what emerged was simply beautiful.
The mid-shelf was fabricated with a peach coloured epoxy to accept the contours of the root. The translucent colouring also allows the viewer to see through the shelf and take in the uniqueness of the roots below. The shelf is also enhanced with the cracked ice effect which adds to the visual beauty. A new process was incorporated in pouring this shelf to make it all possible.
The cedar burl top shelf was also enhanced with peach coloured accents to compliment the whole unit. Another stunning piece of art, handcrafted in Haida Gwaii by Unique’D Furniture.
