This beautiful side table has a lot going on. The top is made from an inch and a half thick slab of western red cedar, shaped somewhat like a chili pepper. All edges are rounded.
The table top is attached to a turned coupler made from Russian poplar. This accepts the stem of the root base which is made from alder.
The base is encapsulated with a shimmering blue epoxy, which gives the piece both strength and beauty. The stem, slanted, adds style.
If you look closely you may find two handmade Koi fish swimming amongst the roots!The top and coupler is easily removed from the stem to make moving or shipping easier. Truly a work of art.
